美國職棒大聯盟堪薩斯皇家隊今天在客場迎戰加州天使隊，台灣投手王建民在八局下登板，投一局無失分，中止連三戰失分，但天使仍以六比一擊敗皇家隊。

皇家此役打擊並未發揮，全場只敲出四支安打，僅在四局上攻下一分；天使則是在一局下就趁著皇家先發投手甘迺迪（Ian Kennedy）不穩之際，靠觸身球、安打與暴投一口氣攻下三分，一路領先。

王建民在八局下登板時，皇家已經以一比六落後，王建民投一局，只用了十二球，其中只有五個好球，先以滾地球讓西蒙斯（Andrelton Simmons）出局，接下來雖然保送潘寧頓（Cliff Pennington），但隨後再讓裴瑞茲（Carlos Perez）敲出雙殺打，成功完成任務。
